Holding a degree in engineering and an MBA, she has a unique ability to analyze processes, identify potential problems before they arise, and develop standardized solutions to ensure every client of Apex Filling Systems enjoys a hassle-free, professional, and pleasant experience.

Marc Cannon
Founder
Marc has over a decade of direct packaging and process machinery experience. His expertise includes sales, marketing, product development, project management, packaging machine design, line integration, and installation of turnkey packaging and process equipment.
He prides himself in staying at the forefront of packaging automation trends to ensure the solutions he develops help his clients in streamlining their operations, reducing costs, and increasing profitability. Prior to working in the filling industry, Marc developed his business acumen at an early age while working in his family’s local automotive service business for over 20 years.
He holds a degree in Service Management and Business from the University Of Northwestern Ohio. His ability to consistently exceed customer expectations, balance multiple projects, and maintain a forward-leaning leadership style is evident in all aspects of Apex Filling Systems’ operations.

Darren Allie
Vice President of Operations
With 15 years experience in the packaging industry, Darren has traveled the world on jobs of all sizes. He has been working in everything from project management, to sales, to production and has the experience to see the entire process from start to end.
Darren steps in for projects to review difficult applications to help come up with solutions that work for every customer. Difficult details are where he excels. Creating a solution built for each customer!

Melissa Hamilton
Director of Finance and Human Resources
Melissa comes to us from 14+ years of Practice Management and Revenue Cycle Management. As Director of Human Resources and Finance, she is a bridge between management and employees, advocating for the employees while minding Apex Filling Systems’ core values and goals.
She may come off as quiet and reserved but as a problem solver and mediator she is fully listening for details and designing probable solutions. Whatever the task, job, or project Melissa sees it through from start to finish. Her focus is on the team and style resonates with the way most treat friends and family.
Melissa is an Indiana University graduate who landed in Northwest Indiana because of her love of Lake Michigan along with the proximity to Chicago for the art and restaurants and Michigan for the ski slopes. When she’s not working she’s watching her teenagers excel in tennis and lacrosse.

Elliott Burge
Account Manager
Elliott – a seasoned sales professional – has experience being a top producer in banking as well as advising people on insurance needs. His natural affinity to learn and achieve success allow him to really connect with businesses and help
them grow.
As an Account Manager, Elliott makes invaluable contributions to Apex’s success by identifying opportunities, qualifying unique scenarios, and guiding clients through tailored solutions and processes.
A proud native of NW Indiana – with his roots in Valparaiso – Elliott’s journey led him to join Phi Delta Theta and graduate with an Economics degree from Wabash College. Beyond the professional realm, Elliott invests his time in playing games
with friends and family, going to the gym, and enjoying live music events.

Cameron Fehland
Account Manager
Cameron Fehland grew up working farms and breaking mustangs in South Dakota. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he did 3 tours to Iraq and a tour with the 15th MEUSOC before moving on to Quantico to work as a combat and tactics instructor at the IOC and the FBI academy. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in English and communications with a minor in professional writing. After meeting his wife, a former Mrs. Indiana, he moved to Valparaiso to work for Tronics America, starting his journey in the packaging industry. After 9 and a half years there he wanted to broaden his experience in the packaging industry and found his new home at Apex Filling Systems where he plans to use his decade of packaging equipment experience to increase Apex customer satisfaction and expand their market presence.

Mike Nasiatka
Service Technician & Controls Engineer
Mike joins the Apex Filling Systems team with an extensive background in assembly and installation of various systems, both electronically and mechanically. He graduated with a Tech degree from the Universal Technical Institute in Chicago.
Mike is a skilled fabricator, with a lifetime of experience to back it up. Growing up, he got involved with the mechanics of any and every motorized activity you could fathom. He learned the components inside and out which provided a love a learning and complete understanding of operations.
When Mike isn’t working, or remodeling, he is working on racecars, for others, but mainly his own. He is involved with road racing, more specifically – Time Attack. This of course is a seasonal sport, so it frees up time to create and fabricate for others.
Mike is happily married to his wife, Amanda and they share two children, Paxton and Mady. They are very involved in dad’s racing lifestyle. The whole family goes along with a slew of friends and lifetime supporters. We are thrilled to have Mike on our team. With his innovative mentality and affinity for designing, or re-designing systems, we know he will be a great asset to our Apex family.

Lindsay Lewis
Sales Assistant
Lindsay was born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana. After spending nearly a decade in retail sales and management, she turned to a career in the automotive sales industry. For the last 10 years, she has been a Finance Manager for several large, successful franchises. She joined Apex as the Sales Assistant, bringing her abilities to organize and support the team’s efforts in providing excellent customer service to our clients.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family attending car shows and cruises in her 1965 Ford Thunderbird, a restored family heirloom passed down from her grandfather.

Jon Hauser
Project Manager
Jon has been in the manufacturing field since childhood, growing up as a shop hand in his father’s steel
fabrication and manufacturing company. Throughout his career, he has held various managerial roles
across the spectrum of manufacturing operations, production, and supply chain. He understands the
contributions manufacturing makes to the economic and vocational vitality of the community and the
country, and he is proud to play a small role in them. Jon earned his BA degree from Monmouth College
in Illinois, and in 2025 he will receive his MBA from Indiana University South Bend.
Jon is happily married to his wife Heather, and a devoted father to their daughter Abby. In his spare
time he is also an avid portrait artist, historian, political scientist, and author. He has written and
published two historical novels about the First Crusade, Road to Byzantium and Beyond Byzantium. His
historical and philosophical analysis of the contemporary American political landscape, The Destruction
of Liberty, was featured as a “Must Read Book” in the October 2024 edition of the New York Times Book
Review.

Pamela Regenold
Materials Specialist & Parts Sales
Pam joins the Apex team with 10+ years in manufacturing and material handling/processing experience. She has a vast background in quality where she focused on process improvements. She is always looking for creative and innovative ways to make processes more efficient.
Throughout her career she has developed a reputation for dedication, integrity and working hard to reach her goals. She believes that customer service, internal and external are the key to success. She is up for any challenge that comes her way and uses it as an opportunity to grow.
Pam was born and raised in Michigan City, IN where she still currently resides with her husband and three children. When she’s not at work, Pam enjoys spending quality time with her family. Her hobbies include volleyball and doing photography.

Emmanuel Chijioke
Engineer
Emmanuel “Manny” Chijioke was born and raised in Nigeria, West Africa, and moved to the United States in 2006 at the age of 13. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen on May 17, 2017. Manny holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, as well as an MBA with a focus in Project Management Leadership, which he earned in 2019.
Manny brings an extensive background in the mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, and mechatronics industries. Throughout his engineering career, he has contributed to the design, development, and manufacturing of various products. With expertise in tools such as Autodesk Inventor, CAD, SolidWorks, and project management leadership, Manny excels in analyzing and improving design projects by applying advanced engineering principles. He has demonstrated his ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively as a team member.
Outside of work, Manny is a talented musician who plays acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, and piano. He also enjoys designing and 3D printing and has a passion for traveling.

Chris Hermsen
Assembly Technician
With 7 years experience as a Machine Assembly Technician, Chris can’t wait to get his hands on your project, literally. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Chris began his career as a Hull Maintenance Technician. Following his years of service to our nation, he spent fifteen years as a Journeyman Plumber.
Chris’ aptitude for and experience with mechanical components enables him to assemble, configure, and maintain all facets of the filling line in an efficient and effective manner. He prides himself on his ability to work in an accountable and professional fashion.
When he’s not working, Chris thoroughly enjoys online gaming. Among his favorite titles is World of Warcraft which he’s been playing for years.

Pat Bishop
Assembly Technician
Pat was born in Michigan City, Indiana, but has lived in LaPorte, Indiana, for most of his life. In the 1960s, his parents purchased 40 acres of land and generously gifted 2 acres to each of the six siblings in the family. Growing up, he had countless adventures on that property.
Throughout his career, Pat worked for several companies in Michigan City, including a towing company and a large compressor company. He later attended Ivy Tech to study CNC Machining but found that the field wasn’t the right fit. After working for various companies and struggling to find a place where he felt he belonged, he joined Apex Filling Systems. Since then, he has found it to be a great place to work, with wonderful people and a supportive environment.
In 2019, Pat married his wife, Lisa, who has always supported his passions. One of those passions is building and restoring cars. Over the years, he has restored several vehicles, including a ’68 Mustang, a ’70 Chevelle, a ’47 Willys military jeep, an ’88 Jeep Wrangler, a ’54 Willys truck, and his favorite, an ’01 Audi TT Convertible. When it’s too cold to work outside, he enjoys building Legos and model kits.
Though he jokes about getting older, he still feels like a kid at heart, even if age has slowed down his ability to do everything he could 30 years ago.

Hunter Ferguson

Hunter has been working in electrical trades for 2-3 years, gaining a solid foundation in the field during his three years in a high school building trades program, where he also learned welding. With a strong commitment to tackling any challenge, he excels at problem-solving and is a dedicated team player. His teaching skills and collaborative spirit make him a valuable asset to any project.
Outside of work, he is passionate about mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he ranks as the #12 light heavyweight in the Midwest out of 517 competitors. In addition to his professional and athletic pursuits, he is a proud father to two daughters, Layla and Inara, who inspire him every day.

Tye Roark
Panel Builder
Tyler “Tye” Roark is a dedicated professional who brings enthusiasm and a strong work ethic to his role as a Crate Builder & Inventory Assistant at Apex Filling Systems. A creative individual with a remarkable talent for drawing, Tye enjoys refining his artistic skills by exploring new styles and techniques in his free time.
Tye is also passionate about lifelong learning and is currently working toward an associate degree in computer science to further his interests in technology and innovation. His commitment to self-improvement and curiosity about new topics make him a valuable asset to the team.
Outside of work, Tye is a devoted husband and loving father of four, cherishing time spent with his family while balancing his professional and personal pursuits.

Levi Hepp
Assembly Technician
Levi is a NW Indiana native from Chesterton, Indiana and comes to us from 12 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering with 6 of those in both high and low-speed food packaging and custom conveyor design, as well as pick-up truck cap, automotive and R/V design.
Levi was a former retail manager and then GM assembler when foreign trade displaced his position. He was afforded a 2 nd chance at an education through the Indiana Trade Adjustment Act and enrolled at Ivy Tech community College in Kokomo, Indiana where he was employed as the
CAD lab assistant while working his way to graduating Summa cum Laude in 2011 with a degree in Mechanical Design Engineering in CAD/CAM. While there he applied for and won two NASA research grants, first in Mars rover research and then flying a 3-D printer aboard the Zero-G plane proving 3-D printing possible in a microgravity environment.
Levi is a class of 1994 Eagle Scout, and is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hiking, kayaking and exploring with his teenage son Jax who also regularly schools his dad in video games! In his spare time Levi enjoys
doing DIY repairs to his car and home, cooking and reading fantasy and sci-fi and loves horror writers like Stephen King and Clive Barker. He also relaxes by drawing, painting and wood carving, and is newly trying his
hand at chainsaw-carving.

Eugene Chambers
Assembly Technician
Eugene “Gene” Chambers is a valued member of the Apex Filling Systems team. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring state and national parks, and visiting Lake Michigan. Eugene is also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoys online gaming, particularly MMO and RPG titles such as The Last of Us, Elden Ring, and Black Myth Wukong. In his free time, he likes listening to music and appreciating the outdoors.

Justin Satterfield
Service Technician
With over 20 years experience in the combined fields of production management, equipment installation, maintenance and repairs, Justin understands your equipment needs from start to finish. Having worked all ends of the spectrum, He knows the bottom line is profitability and takes pride making sure your equipment meets or exceeds your expectations.
Whether it’s a new installation, repairs or upgrades, Justin has the experience and knowledge to make sure everything happens smoothly start to finish.
Having lived in the Midwest for several years, Justin is originally from Oklahoma where in his downtime he enjoys spending time with his children Zach and Isabelle whenever possible. He also enjoys working on the family ranch, music, and anything mechanical from offroad, race, to boating.

Roman
Office Dog
Roman is a Great Dane/Great Pyrenees/Mastiff Mix. He is a gentle giant who is still in his growing stages. He enjoys hanging out at Apex and finding snacks and scratches everywhere he goes. His favorite things to do are run and play with his family, take walks and head toward the sound of anything snacking! When Roman isn’t being our Mascot at Apex, he is getting completely spoiled by his little people whom he is so loyal and protective of.

Tye is also passionate about lifelong learning and is currently working toward an associate degree in computer science to further his interests in technology and innovation. His commitment to self-improvement and curiosity about new topics make him a valuable asset to the team.
Outside of work, Tye is a devoted husband and loving father of four, cherishing time spent with his family while balancing his professional and personal pursuits.

Levi Hepp
Assembly Technician
Levi is a NW Indiana native from Chesterton, Indiana and comes to us from 12 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering with 6 of those in both high and low-speed food packaging and custom conveyor design, as well as pick-up truck cap, automotive and R/V design.
Levi was a former retail manager and then GM assembler when foreign trade displaced his position. He was afforded a 2 nd chance at an education through the Indiana Trade Adjustment Act and enrolled at Ivy Tech community College in Kokomo, Indiana where he was employed as the
CAD lab assistant while working his way to graduating Summa cum Laude in 2011 with a degree in Mechanical Design Engineering in CAD/CAM. While there he applied for and won two NASA research grants, first in Mars rover research and then flying a 3-D printer aboard the Zero-G plane proving 3-D printing possible in a microgravity environment.
Levi is a class of 1994 Eagle Scout, and is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hiking, kayaking and exploring with his teenage son Jax who also regularly schools his dad in video games! In his spare time Levi enjoys
doing DIY repairs to his car and home, cooking and reading fantasy and sci-fi and loves horror writers like Stephen King and Clive Barker. He also relaxes by drawing, painting and wood carving, and is newly trying his
hand at chainsaw-carving.

Eugene Chambers
Assembly Technician
Eugene “Gene” Chambers is a valued member of the Apex Filling Systems team. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring state and national parks, and visiting Lake Michigan. Eugene is also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoys online gaming, particularly MMO and RPG titles such as The Last of Us, Elden Ring, and Black Myth Wukong. In his free time, he likes listening to music and appreciating the outdoors.

With over 20 years experience in the combined fields of production management, equipment installation, maintenance and repairs, Justin understands your equipment needs from start to finish. Having worked all ends of the spectrum, He knows the bottom line is profitability and takes pride making sure your equipment meets or exceeds your expectations.
Whether it’s a new installation, repairs or upgrades, Justin has the experience and knowledge to make sure everything happens smoothly start to finish.
Having lived in the Midwest for several years, Justin is originally from Oklahoma where in his downtime he enjoys spending time with his children Zach and Isabelle whenever possible. He also enjoys working on the family ranch, music, and anything mechanical from offroad, race, to boating.

Roman

Roman is a Great Dane/Great Pyrenees/Mastiff Mix. He is a gentle giant who is still in his growing stages. He enjoys hanging out at Apex and finding snacks and scratches everywhere he goes. His favorite things to do are run and play with his family, take walks and head toward the sound of anything snacking! When Roman isn’t being our Mascot at Apex, he is getting completely spoiled by his little people whom he is so loyal and protective of.
