The Assembly Technician – is responsible for the assembly of machines and products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in all areas of the production line within the organization. This position is responsible for the receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse. This position ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. The individual must be self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and trustworthy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reads and interprets blueprints and work orders to determine appropriate assembly operations.
- Pulls required parts from inventory per established procedures.
- Records labor and parts used in assembly on documents per established procedures.
- Reports any malfunctions or equipment problems to Service Technician – Lead and/or Production Manager.
- Maintains clean, orderly and safe work areas always.
- Submits all documentation in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Assists in other areas of operations including shipping, receiving, inventory, customer inquiries and service department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins per predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code.
- Open crates and containers that have been received.
- Log all incoming materials via receiving.
- Occasionally drive company vehicles to pick up or drop off needed products.
- Assist in the counting of physical inventory.
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
- Assists in other areas of operations including shipping, receiving, inventory, customer inquiries and service department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent education and experience combined.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Word/Excel, industry software).
- Organized, thorough, and detail-oriented.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Mathematical skills; ability to understand dimensions.
- Ability to multi-task, handling numerous assignments simultaneously with quick transitions.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Time management skills; ability to prioritize work to adapt to a fast-paced environment and perform well under stress.
